Theme: FAMILY
In the French imagination, Africa is generally Black and Francophone. The Maghreb is linked to the Middle East, the Portuguese language is surprising, and English-speaking Africa is often overlooked due to a lack of subtitles. Yet, works converge despite their linguistic and geographical specificities. Through childhood and family, let’s discover how directors from South Africa, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, and Tunisia portray these themes.
"I am very proud to be the sponsor of the Siniman Films association, which fights against stereotypes, because this work seems extremely necessary to me. France continues to struggle with living alongside its minorities, and it is important to bring a diversified image of Africa to the widest possible audience."
